Mingowood Pharmacal has been granted Canadian Patent No. 3,194,835 for the technology behind our Intercalyx™ platform. The patent was issued by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office on September 22, 2026. It complements U.S. Patent No. 12,377,109 and extends our protection through October 2041.

Acidic cannabinoids such as CBDA, THCA and CBGA have shown therapeutic promise in early research, but they degrade quickly at room temperature. That instability has kept them out of pharmaceutical development. Intercalyx™ holds these compounds in their native form within layered double hydroxide particles. The Canadian claims cover CBDA, THCA, CBGA and olivetolic acid across oral, topical, ophthalmic and injectable formulations. In stability testing, formulations retained at least 90% of the acidic cannabinoid after six months at 25°C, with no cold chain required.

Intercalyx™ was invented by David Anderson, PhD. Dr. Anderson and Managing Partner Benjamin Cameransi helped develop Ryanodex®, the FDA-approved treatment for malignant hyperthermia.

In June, 2026, Mingowood Pharmacal presented its Intercalyx™ technology platform for acidic cannabinoid stabilization at ICRS Symposium, 2026. Managing Partner Dr. Benjamin Cameransi met with cannabis researchers and potential licensing partners.

On August 12, 2025, Mingowood Pharmacal announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 12,377,109 for its novel formulation technology. The patent, "Formulation and Noncovalent Stabilization of Olivetolic Acid Derivatives," covers a new method for effectively stabilizing acidic cannabinoids such as CBGA, CBDA, and THCA.
